Love all of you students!
Ms. H
Read through some student feedback that I got and then next to it see my feedback about the student feedback! :)
Favorite thing about Web Essentials:
- "I love everything about this class! (It makes me feel smart when I text my friends using XHTML code and they don't know what I am saying.)"
- "Its like art, I love creating my own website and putting in all of these CSS rules, its really fun."
- "The walk-through videos on how to do the assignments. They are very helpful hands-on way to learn the material and get assignments done."
Least favorite thing about Web Essentials:
- "I didn't like how we had to repeat the "Your moms cards" assignment."
- "Learning about selectors like Class and id even though we have to."
- "Sometimes I feel like the class moves a little bit slowly."
Positive Learning Experience:
- "My first time writing HTML code made me realize that writing a website is not really that hard."
- "The cascade! Since I've worked with HTML and CSS for almost a year now, learning this in such a fun way made it so much easier."
- "I learned how to change the font and color of things on a website. This helped me because it goes with my graphic design class, which we were learning about fonts in the class at the same time."
- "I asked Ms. Hansen one time about why I couldn't get into my documents to edit them after I saved them and she was really nice about helping me understand what I needed to do to fix it. It taught me that I can come to my teacher and not be laughed at or mocked for doing something wrong."
- "A couple weeks ago, I was able to create a webpage that looked pretty cool. I love being able to apply what I learn, rather than just learning it and forgetting it the next day because I never use it."
- "I really like how we were able to have our questions answered in the review discussion."
- "It's a good weekly workload, not too heavy. I don't feel like I'm rushed to learn the new concepts."
- "When doing the 'Your Mom's Cards' website, I realized that different color schemes like that can actually look really cool."
- "I have learned a billion things about building a website I never knew!"
- "When I was working on putting CSS into the Your Moms Cards webpage and I had all of the rules for XHTML laid out on the Notepad Document and my Dad walked in and he like yelled What is that??!!!!! .. now my family thinks I'm a top notch computer geek, its funny."
- "I don't think there's one specific moment. I would say just the whole thing has been positive because I always thought I'd be bad at coding, but I have an A."
Recommendations for Ms. H:
- "Maybe you could show what type of jobs this is used for to show students that they might want to go into that line of work."
- "Sometimes it is a little hard to understand and sometimes the teacher does not get back to you even though you are green cammed." - Please send me (Ms. H) a gchat for an immediate answer. Sometimes my emails take me a little bit longer to sort through."
